Weston A. Fisher

Wes Fisher has been a member of IAIA for three decades and has over 30 years’ experience in international natural resource policy, planning and management. He has been a trainer/facilitator for over 30 environmental assessment and sound design training courses in 21 countries. He is a past IAIA Board Member and Treasurer and was Program Committee Co-Chair for IAIA05 in Boston.

Wes was a key organizer of two IAIA special symposia on Climate Change and Impact Assessment held in Washington, DC and Aalborg, Denmark in 2010 and was Co-Chair of the Climate Change Section (2011-2023).  He is the primary author of the IAIA Climate Change Action Plan and continues to be involved in its implementation.  He is currently an acting Co-coordinator of the Fit for Future Initiative.  The IAIA Board designated Wes the recipient of the Outstanding Service to IAIA award in 2014 and 2022.  He holds an A.B. Biology ’64, B.S. Geology ’65, M.S Geology ’66, from Stanford University.
